Due to the characteristic lanceolate-shaped leaves the plant is sometimes called “rabbit’s ears”.
Its chemical composition is following: flavonoid compounds, mainly flavonoid glycosides, such as kaempferol, its 3-0-glucoside, quercetin 3-0-glucoside and isoramnetin, besides derivatives of quinine acid: 5-O-caffeoylquinic acid. Besides, it supports asthma therapy, excellent remedy in the upper respiratory tract infections, mainly in lung diseases and whooping cough. Expectorant activity. It is used in bladder activity disorders and in inflammation of the prostate. It shows the febrifugal (antipyretic - anti-fever) and diaphoretic activity. It is also used in joints diseases, even in indigestion. The results of recent research carried by the Italian scientists reveal about antiviral and due to the presence of caffeine acid derivatives in the infusions, it significantly inhibits chemotaxis and formation of peroxide radicals, anti-inflammatory activity of compounds present in wira-wira.
Instructions of use: Pour approx. 300 ml of water on 5 g of herbs and boil for 5 minutes under a cover. Drink a cup (approx. 250 ml) of the warm decoction before sleep. Do not exceed the prescribed dosage. The preparation cannot substitute a balanced and varied diet.
Ingredients: Dried, ground Wira-wira (Gnaphalium vira-vira) 100g.
Contraindications: Pregnancy and lactation period, hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the preparation.
Store in a dry and dark place at a room temperature. Keep out of the reach of children.
